Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd. and US- based energy provider AES India Private Limited today announced an agreement to construct a 10 MW energy storage array at Panasonic’s Techno park manufacturing facility in Jhajjar, Haryana. This joint venture is the first large-scale battery-based energy storage project in India. The storage will provide daily reliability and back-up to the manufacturing facility, while demonstrating grid stability and renewable integration services in the region.
ABB signed a memorandum of understanding with the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) to enter a technical cooperation to build micro-grids as well as joint research and development in the field of rural electrification, utilization of natural non-fossil resources, battery energy storage and their connection to loads and main grid. The agreement also includes internship opportunities to post graduate students of IITM for the next three years.
Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) today said its board has given approval to investment proposals worth Rs 3,324 crore, including Rs 845 crore generation projects in Odisha and Rs 810 crore solar park in Karnataka.
